Preparing the Subfloor for Installation
A successful project starts with proper preparation of the subfloor. Whether it’s concrete, plywood, or an existing floor, it should be clean. You should use the level floor to start the installation journey.
- If you’re working with a concrete subfloor, make sure it is moisture-free or you can use a moisture barrier.
- For a plywood subfloor, make sure it’s secure. Because it could damage the floor over time.
Cleaning the surface is very important. Proper cleaning can prevent damage to the surface. We recommend sweeping or vacuuming before starting the installation.

Adjusting Your Engineered Hardwood
Engineered hardwood needs at least 48 hours to adjust the room’s temperature. To prevent damage warping or gaps is a very important step. Lay down the boxes flat on the floor for proper air circulation. It needs time to adjust to the environment.
Choosing Your Installation Method

When you think about how to install engineered hardwood flooring, there are three methods available. The best method depends on your personal choice. Let’s look at the options:
Floating Method
The floating method uses one of the easiest installation techniques. This method works well over concrete, plywood, or even an existing floor. It is a great option for DIYers.
Glue-Down Method
In this method, you may apply glue directly to the subfloor. The next step is to press each plank into place. It’s ideal for a stable and secure floor. We recommend high-quality glue to ensure longevity.
Nail-Down Method
The nail-down method is user-friendly for plywood subfloors. The planks should be nailed or stapled to the subfloor. This method is durable and requires more tools.

Step-by-Step Installation Process
To complete the installation process, we suggest you follow some steps. Let’s discuss about it:
Step- 1: Lay the Underlayment
You should start from underlayment across the subfloor. The underlayment provides sound insulation and protects the moisture barrier. Do not overlap the tape with the barrier.
Step- 2: Begin Laying the First Row
Leave a small gap for expansion. It is important to maintain the temperature. Start laying the first row of planks with the tongue side. Ensure the planks are perfectly aligned. This alignment is the foundation of rest installation.
Step- 3: Connect the Planks
Simply connect the planks using a rubber mallet. Gently tap the planks into place and continue lying on the floor. You should try to create a natural look on the floor.
Step 4: Cut the Planks
When plank lying is complete, cut it very carefully. Use a circular saw or miter saw to make perfect cuts. Measure very carefully to avoid waste of material.

Step- 5: Install the Final Row
The last row may need to be trimmed for a smooth finish. Leave a small gap between the planks and the wall. Remember to remove the space in the final row.
Step 6: Add Finishing Touches
When you finish the installation process it’s time to finish touch. Polish the floor very smartly to look good. Ensure no visible gaps are seen. You should inspect the full floor to avoid imperfections.
